quiz guest quiz

Time to pay the piper!

1. Michael's stepdad's nickname was: Any answer you give would be in err. :P Sorry, folks--I originally had the answer as "Smudge," but that was in fact the nickname of the man Michael *thought* was his father as he grew up, his mother's first husband. His stepfather's name was, in fact, Den. My apologies!

2. Why is Michael's autobiography named, "Parcel Arrived Safely: Tied With a String"? When he was born, the telegram announcing his birth had to be coded so that nosy neighbors wouldn't pick up on the fact his mother had delivered a child. "Tied with a String" indicated the baby was a boy.

3. What song was John Lennon composing when Michael stayed with him during filming of How I Won the War? c.) Strawberry Fields Forever.

4. Michael's grandmother, Nan, once embarrassed him during a show by reacting to a swear word he had to say in the show. Which show was it? Billy. Billy, the rebellious teenage dreamer, had to curse in the show. Nan stood up in her seat and protested loudly at Michael's use of vulgarity.

5. What audience reaction got Michael interested in acting? He loved the idea of making people laugh. (Something he discovered during that infamous performance of "The Little Sweep," in which he lost his pants.)

6. Can you name at least one of Michael's projects for the upcoming holiday/New Year's season? He's releasing a Christmas album (out in October), will be part of Dr. Robert Schuller's Hour of Power special from Bethlehem on Christmas Eve, and is involved in the recording of the Millenium Chorus album. You can read more about these projects on the News page.

How did you do? I could always use more submissions;
send them along to me and I'd be grateful!
