Phan: Goddess Athena, you are wise, and have advised gods and men. Perhaps
you can help me. When I even think of meeting the Michael, I get weak in
the knees, my heart beats faster, I drool on my keyboard and melt into a
puddle. My family thinks I'm crazy. I think Michael is just the greatest
but I can't explain it. What is this Michael Magic?
Athena: I can see that you do, I'll answer your question but first you must
answer a few for me. What is one of the first things you notice about him?
Phan: Oh Athena, it's his beautiful blue eyes!
Athena: But Paul Newman has beautiful blue eyes. You don't seem to be as
taken with him?
Phan: Yes, but Michael has such a cute boyish grin to go with them.
Athena: Tom Cruise has such a boyish grin, don't you think he's as wonderful?
Phan: well, he's cute... but Michael has lovely curly "brownish" hair to
top off that face.
Athena: Well Fabio is well known for his lovely hair, and you've never
spent a fraction of this time thinking of him.
Phan: Michael has this incredible voice, he sings lovelier than any bird.
Athena: I've heard Pavarotti has such a beautiful voice, and many people
come to hear him sing, and he can sing in many different languages.
Phan, Well, yes, but when Michael speaks he has the cutest British accent.
Athena: And is it not the same Britain where Sean Connery and Patrick
Stewart learned to speak?
Phan: Of course, but he is so very funny when he tells his stories.
Athena: I seem to remember thousands laughing when George Burns told his
stories. People laughed at him for a hundred years.
Phan But Michael uses his hands and he has such wonderfully expressive hands.
Athena: Have you never seen Marcelle Marceau do pantomime? Or the work of
Michelangelo?
Phans: I never saw Michelangelo dance, Michael can do any dance, and runs
all over the stage from one end to the other. His toes surely twinkle.
Athena: Fred Astaire hardly touched the ground when he danced. And Gene
Kelly taught Michael some of his dances.
Phan: Well it's his whole body, y'know that HG Wells outfit with the riding
boots?
Athena: Have you not been to the beach lately? There are many young men
who work very hard to have beautiful bodies.
Phan: But Athena there are not many men of any age like Michael. Each time
I try to tell you about something you tell me about others, but he's not
like the others.
Athena: Michael Magic does not come from the curls in his hair, or the
Twinkle in his toes. Each of these things that you find special about him
can be found elsewhere. Michael Magic is much more than the sum of his
parts. Just as a car works, only when it's put all together and fueled up,
this man's magic comes from his entirety and is fueled by that "gaseous"
substance called charisma, mixed generously with character and ignited by
spark plugs of Passion, Talent, Dedication, and Appreciation.
Michael is indeed like a magical car that can take you anywhere you want to go.
Perhaps the key to this car is YOU, his Phans. So go ahead, get your
friends together turn your eyes to the stage....and...let the magic begin!
One day, as the gods were sitting around Mt Olympus not doing much,
Zeus walked up and said, "what's going on?"
"Not much Zeus, personally I think they need something new down
there." Athena said.
"Like what?" Zeus asked.
"Somebody brave that will do anything." Mars said.
"Make sure he's fast on his feet." Mercury said.
"Make him gorgeous so I can enjoy looking at him." Venus said.
"Be sure he's funny" George Burns said. (Yes, George Burns was around
then.)
What did the other gods add????

"Make his strength come from the inside," said Hercules, hoping to avoid
competition, but not realizing that inner strength is stronger than mere
muscle.
"Make him love children," said Demeter, looking wistfully after her
daughter Persephone.
"Make him know the darkness as well as the light," murmured Pluto,
looking sadly after Persephone.
"Make him a lover of music," said Apollo, brushing the strings of his
lyre.
"Make the lovers of music love him," said the Muses, cooing after Apollo.
Zeus called, over the jealous lectures of his wife Hera, "Make him know
love and laughter both."
And Oysseus offered, "Make him a constant traveller on life's road."

"I will give him eyes the color no one has ever seen, a color that others
will forever wonder about" said Aurora.
Reaching for his weapons of war, Mars began, "I will give him..."
"Butt out, Mars, you're not needed here," commanded Zeus.
The three Graces whispered, " A love of the arts...."
Cupid let fly his arrow, "Let others feel the sweet sting of my arrows
whenever they lay eyes on him." Athena tried to stop him but it was too
late. She glared at Cupid. "That really wasn't necessary, Cupid. He
already HAS that."
George Burns choked on his cigar. "Don't forget funny, FUNNY!" he coughed out.
The Muse of Comedy graciously obliged. Apollo went over to George and
thumped him on the back.
"Better old man?" asked Apollo. "Much, thanks", said George.
Athena said, "Give him the wisdom to look beyond what others see and to
bring out what is hidden."
by Thalia
"Make him like me," said Proteus as he changed shape again.
"Make sure he loves the good life," said Bacchus, unusually soberly.
"But he must hunt out the deepest emotions too," observed Artemis
"And he should be a loving child at heart," added Cupid impishly.
"A child?" groaned Prometheus with a frown. "What we need is someone who cares about mankind."
Jove protested, "You ask him to be all things to all men? Only a god can do that, not men." But a tear rolled from his eye.
Athena caught it and dropped it on a patch of barren ground. Immediately, beautiful peach-and-gold colored roses sprang forth.
She winked at her father, Jove. "But he can try."
