Mesha's Mom and Daughter Story

Submitted by Mesha

My daughter and I had the lucky chance of meeting a class act recently. I was sitting in my living room thinking of what to wear for my trip to NYC where MC was going to be in concert the next day. Then I remembered that he was signing things at Coconut's the day before his concert. I had wanted to go, but my daughter was working and I thought we would never make it if we left so late in the day. When I finally told my daughter, she looked at me like I was crazy, but knew how much it meant to me and conned me into going. I kept saying, "No" but finally screeched out a "Yes". She grabbed the phone, called her job, and said she couldn't make it in, then told me to go pack for an overnight stay in NYC. It took us only ten minutes to pack and we were out the door. We barely knew where to catch the bus, but we saw a bus on the corner and ran to it as fast as we could. Once on the bus, we took it to the train station, then took the train to NYC, then jumped on the first subway we saw and headed to Coconut,s. Once there, I realized I didn't have a camera or a pen for him to use to sign my "Phantom of the Opera" mask that I actually did remember to bring. My daughter traveled a few blocks and found a store that sold cameras and pens. She bought them and ran back, only to find me talking a mile a minute to the others standing on the line, which I am sure was a surprise to her, considering I am a very shy person. But I didn't care, I was there to see MC and was ecstatic about my lucky chance. His arrival was very prompt and he began his signing. I could see him through the window and had my faced pressed in the window until it was my turn to go inside and have my mask signed. When I went up to him, I didn't know what to say because I was so excited, except, "This is so cool." (What a great revelation that was.) My daughter began taking pictures and asked him for an extra smile for the camera, which he happily agreed to. I would have to say that he is very charismatic, charming, gentle, extremely attractive, and a warm-hearted man. He was definitely the highlight of my day. The concert the next day was absolutely fabulous; even my daughter enjoyed it. I am still talking about those two days to everyone I know. I put the pictures in a scrapbook and I look back on them a lot with fond memories.
