A Very Happy Birthday for JannaSubmitted by Janna L. After I had met Michael back in the summer of '94, of course I wanted to go
back and see EFX in the summer of '95. Which I did. Now.. We arrived... on..
hmm.. on the 16th of July, I believe. Not sure though.. (Try and picture a
crazed 15 year old running around loose in the MGM Grand) My mother and I
weren't going to see EFX until the next night. So.. I had nothing better to
do but sit upstairs and watch the TV channel where they show all the things
happening at the MGM Grand. I saw the EFX commercial at least 10 times before
I finally fell asleep. Okay... let's skip the next day and go to that night.
I dragged my mom down to the theatre an hour before we were actually let in.
(Me, excited? Naaahh) When we finally got to enter... wow.. well.. those of
you who saw it.. know what I mean. Wow. We were in the first row. WOW!!!
(Especially during the Houdini and the Globe scenes if you know what I mean.
"Hi, this message is for Janna and Barbara. My name is Robyn. I'm Michael
Crawford's personal assistant and I was calling to you to let you know we
reseived your request and unfortunately we have had a very busy press week
this week and last week and we don't have any time for any meetings or
anything and I'm so sorry about that. But, Mr. Crawford wanted me to let
Janna know that he hopes she had a very wonderful 'Sweet 16' today and that
you guys enjoyed the show and that you have a good time here in Las Vegas.
So, 'Happy Birthday, Janna', from Michael, 'and hope you have a very wonderful
time in Las Vegas and got to see the show and have enjoyed it.' Bye-bye."
I freaked out, for I had no clue that my mom had written him earlier in
the year. But, the next day was our last day in Vegas and our plane didn't
leave till 10:30...so...I conjured up enough money to buy one more ticket
and two more roses and saw the show one last time. And as I brought the roses
up to him, he kinda looked at me funny--then grinned. Then, I ran out of
the theatre...and we left for the airport.
Buuuut.... I'll be back... January.. 1997... I'll be back..
