When the Earth moved...Submitted by Donna On the evening of March 3, I was home, watching and taping Michael's appearance on the local PBS station. I mentioned to my husband that if it weren't for my early flight to DC the next morning, I would go to the station and wait for my hero to depart and ask for his autograph. My husband, naturally, thought I was nuts. Next morning, the very last thing I did before leaving home was set the VCR to tape Michael's appearance on Rosie the following Monday. So, in this Michael Crawford state of mind, I boarded the plane at SFO very early the morning of March 4 and started through the first class cabin back to the main cabin. Only one person was seated in first class and.......it was HIM! He sat next to the window, reading a newspaper, I think he had reading glasses on, and of course I spoke to him. He looked a little unsure, as if I might be speaking to someone else, but smiled responded to me quite politely. Later in the flight, an attendant and I discussed how he was on board and she had spoken with him a lot by then and said he is very sweet. I wrote him a note, she delivered it and he wrote me a little note back. As she said, he is very sweet. What did he look like? His hair is a soft color of reddish brown, his skin is that very pale English/Irish peaches and cream, he wore a blue shirt, open collar, and he was sitting down so I can't say how tall he was. As I said, I think he had reading glasses on but wouldn't swear to it. His smile is crinkly and cute and his teeth very white and even. He looked very well rested, extremely healthy, so not to worry about this hectic schedule bringing our man down. No one who knows me can believe how I fortunate I was, as there is no other famous person I would even walk across the street to see in person. I don't know if Michael felt the earth move when our eyes met, but I SURE
DID!!!!
