He Really Does Stop TrafficSubmitted by Marie C.From British TV interview, GMTV, in 1987 CRASH!!!! In an interview with Michael during his time in the London production of Phantom he said his dressing room was on the first floor and he had a window overlooking the street. He often looked down on the lines of people waiting for hours, sometimes overnight just in the hope of getting a return ticket. He marvelled at how patient they were and how they endured the cold etc. (I bet they wish they had looked up!!!) When saying this Michael remembered one evening he was at his window desperately trying to attract the attention of one of the stage staff crossing the road below. He wanted the staffer to get a milk shake for him. After he had mimed what he wanted he glanced down at the traffic and at that moment a lady in a passing car looked up, caught sight of Michael and promptly drove straight into the car in front. He said he felt really guilty about causing the crash. Then he laughed and said he didn't blame the lady as at the time he had the Phantom make up on but no mask!!! I would love to know what her Insurance Company thought
of her explanation for the accident on her claim form.
"Well, you see, I looked up and there was this Phantom"..........
