Michael and a Hose

The MGM Grand boasts the $70 milliion razzle-dazzle revue EFX, starring Michael Crawford who gave me his routine: "Between shows I lie down, put my legs up the wall, have a cup of tea and a protein drink. Dinner's 4 o'clock. After the second show, 12:30 a.m., I have spaghetti. My engine's still burning, so it doesn't turn into fat.

"One day off a week, Thursday, I rest. Can't go outdoors. It's 120 degrees. Every four weeks it's a week off, but I can't fly to London to see my kids because jet lag and dehydration could hurt the voice."

So his relaxation? "Tomatoes. At 1:30 the other morning, I was hosing them down and a neighbor thought it was an intruder in the garden. Security barged in, guns drawn and there I am, hose in hand, watering my tomatoes."
